Two Scary Things

The US is fixing to pass its 1000 execution since the death penalty was reinstated. Currently they have executed 997 people, and they have a few more lined up. I don’t know why but for some reason this makes me incredibly sad. Here we are as the greatest superpower and we still have a need for executions and prisions. It doesn’t shine to kindly on our society.

Rudolph the Red Nose Raindeer was also on TV tonight. For crying out loud people its not even December yet, let the holiday have some dignity.

On a much lighter note, there was a study done that has concluded that doctors will need longer needles for injecting drugs into the buttocks. Turns out that as people get fatter and fatter longer needles are needed to get the drugs into the muscle of the buttocks.

Oh my gosh its a amazing!?!?

Well here I am again blogging for your entertainment. I must love all of you. Well I made it through another week, which is amazing. Gas prices have dropped to $1.99, which is amazing. Finally Kimmy told me that she would get up at 5:00 a.m. tomorrow which is absolutely amazing; you should ask her why.

We both just got done watching Grey’s Anatomy and Desperate Housewives. I hate to admit it but I really love watching both of those shows. Grey’s Anatomy was incredibly funny, they did their Thanksgiving episode which focused on love on loss. More importantly George yelled out “you shot dad in the ass are you happy?!?” What’s Thanksgiving with out a little knifing and shooting. Actually Thanksgivings are something quite nice to look forward too. We are renting the Georgetown chamber of commerce and having friends and family galore showing up. We feast and feast and feast; then we moan and groan about eating to much. We also do have a lot to be thankful for. Kimmy is in school and I have a job for at least 4 more months (no matter how much I hate it); Stacie is doing well in school; Dad still has a job. The crowning achievement though is Jennifer was offered a full ride to Baylor for law school. And since I know she doesn’t read this blog I can say way to go sissy, am very proud of you.

In other news this week, Kimmy and I saw Harry Potter last night. It wasn’t very crowded, it was fully but not bursting, and the movie was awesome. A dark movie but still awesome. I liked the part where Harry was fighting the Dragon on Hogwarts. I also liked the Riddle grave yard but I do tend toward the macabre a bit. I have that dark sense of cynical humor that tends to annoy my parents and occasionally freak people out. But the good thing is that when things to turn out happy and bright I am often pleasantly surprised.

Finally the last thing to get off my chest. What the hell is up with the world’s premier super power? That would be the US just in case you can’t figure it out. More importantly why can’t we the largest super power in the world, the country with the best education system, the best innovation and the best place to do business provide comprehensive drug coverage to the oldest and and most fragile in our country? People may claim its to expensive, to limiting and too unfair….But just remember this, one important lesson I learned in philosophy, you are not only damned by what you do but by what you didn’t do. A nation that can not take care of the most helpless, the most feeble will eventually consume and destroy itself. And finally in my own self defense before any jack ass out there calls me a liberal or a commie just go study which country first put social security into effect (and no it wasn’t the US) and then try to figure out why.

One of the new fun things that I have been enjoying is Wikipedia. Its interesting what you can find , the sum of human existance stuffed nicely into an easily navigable website. Actually I think my mind is just starting to atrophy and needs to be exercised. My german course really doesn’t do it for me, in fact I loathe my german course but I have to get it done. The hope is to go get my german course done, graduate, take the GRE, and grad school.

Today Kimmy and I also reached a first. It was the first time that our fire alarm has ever been set off. And it was all due to Kimmy’s cooking. Actually I shouldn’t say that (the burners are dirty), she might stop cooking and I would be SOL. For some reason, don’t know why, she has been cooking more and more. Maybe I have domesticated her? Nah I doubt it.

Work is also going okay, I am getting more time off the phones to help assist with technical issues around the office. Its still work though and I have just come off of four weeks of only working two days a week so five days a week is really rough. I have a whole list of other things I would rather be doing. This includes pretty much everything except my german course. The weather makes it even harder to go to work, especially since it is getting colder. Cold mornings and warm beds make for a lazy Russell. Still I love that paycheck so cold mornings it is.

I am also taking suggestions for updating my layout for our websight so if you have any suggestions please email them to me.

Good Gravy its been a while since I updated!!

Wow its been a long time since I updated!! And have you ever noticed that when people post stuff to the internet they love to use lots of exclamation points!! What is up with that?!?! Well not much has been happening, I have had some vacation time so I have a whole load of time in the middle of the week when I am supposed to be doing my German homework (evil evil German homework) but I have been sleeping a whole lot and cleaning. Kimmy had chior practice today so I was left alone most of the day which i slept and lounged away. So that been what I have been up to.

In other news my contract for employment got extended. So I won’t be losing my job till sometime in the 1st or 2nd quarter of 2006. I was incredibly happy that they were so specific. Well not much else to talk about so I am making a promise to update more and posibbly do a site overhaul since I am not sure if I like the current layout.
