Well I survived a thoroughly exhausting weekend at Lake Brownwood. Nature and family can be a lot of fun but in the end it leaves you exhausted. Kimmy and I were both incredibly happy to make it back back to our tiny, over priced apartment and sleep in our decadently soft queen sized bed. Exhausted we both fled the waking world like the French fled Alsace-Lorraine. Unfortunately I was dragged back to the waking world all to early. One of our domain servers decided to have a critical fan error over the weekend and I was burdened with the responsibility to nurse the piece of junk back to health. Needless to say insanity ensued, panic reared its ugly head, and I was stuck tending the circus that was work for 10 hours waiting for a new fan to be installed. It finally was, panic subsided, and I was irritated that the entire day was saved by the man from HP and the 3 minutes it took for him to install the new fan.
I finally made it home, after stopping by HEB for dinner. My lovely wife and I enjoyed a meal of bread, cheese, fruit and cherries. I really love cherries, they are quite the treat. As an additional treat to myself, because Kimmy really wanted to go see it and work really sucked, Kimmy and I went off to the newest Cinema in our neck of the woods and beheld the wonder that is Pirates of the Caribbean 3. If you tolerated the second one, the third one will not disappoint; it hearkens back to the insanity, the stunts, and the incredible sword fights that made the first one a surprisingly great movie. Faced with extinction, it is really unpleasant ask the dinosaurs, various pirate factions enact complicated bargins and twisted plots to stop the evils of capitalism and Davey Jones. There are twists, more twists, betrayal stacked on betrayal and more sword fighting that you cans shake, well a sword at. There were some good one liners, some excellent stunts, and an ending that surprised even my omniscient self didn’t predict; I won’t ruin it for you. I enjoyed the movie now I command you to go out and do the same.
And I am going to head back to my decadent bed and enjoy some well deserved sleep.

I feel bad for old technology. Items that have served faithfully for years are now useless pieces of junk; regulated to nothing more than environmental hazards. What was once cutting edge and modern is now ancient and decrepit; nothing more than a burden. Eventually it piles up till a recycling company dutifully arrives and takes it away. Behind the scenes (and possibly in some third world country) workers destroy what was once a cherished companion. Gathering old technology, sorting it, removing it from inventory makes me sad; similar to putting that bullet into Old Yeller.
What is terribly tragic is gathering up mice. Like the little animals they mimic, they try to escape, but never do. They end up in boxes, under desks, in empty cubes or on shelves; but i find them all. One by one they are gathered together, I cruelly knot their tails and hang the mess of them from my cubicle walls. Frantic squeaks echo in the loading dock as they fearfully await their turn with the recyclers.

So the Firefly series has made its way into our home library, and has been a huge hit. So far Episode 7: Safe has been our favorite. See above one of our favorite quotes in the episode. Also I know want to know something, why do all of the guys think Kaylee is the hottest? I don’t get it. Remind you this is Kimmy blogging, not Russell. I want to know why.

The line it is drawn, The curse it is cast, The slow one now Will later be fast, As the present now Will later be past, The order is Rapidly fadin’. And the first one now Will later be last For the times they are a-changin’. ~ Bob Dylan

Well finals are over, tests have been passed and my baby sister has graduated at last. So congratulations are in order for the little brat; we are all very, very proud of her. This Friday, she walks, she talks, she transforms into a robot and a college graduate. Soon she will be able to make Julian Fries and teach; so lock up your potatoes and your children because neither is safe. Congratulations again baby sister, Kiki and I love you bunches.

Jenny’s faithful little Mazda finally bit it and suddenly she needed a new car. So last Friday her and mom went out and found a new little car at Howdy Honda. Kimmy and I had been contemplating trading the truck in, so while they were there they found a sweet little Honda for me; I love when other people shop for me. Now we are the proud owners of an awesome 2006 Civic. And I do mean awesome, it only took me 20 minutes to make it to work this morning; usually it takes me 30 to 45 minutes. It might be that UT is winding down for the semester and those moronic students aren’t clogging the road OR that my car can bend the space time continuum. Whatever it is, my car is awesome; bask in its awesomeness. Now if only it could transform.
Today also happens to be the day that Spam first reared its ugly head. Digital Electric Corporation first spammed about 400 people today in 1978; evidently some wretched person in sales thought it would be a great idea. Damn you Digital Electric Corporation, you spawned spam and make really difficult servers. But I really don’t care, because my car is awesome.
